This course combines enhanced instructional techniques training with specific training on how to conduct an APCO student course. Successful completion of this course enables your agency instructors to instruct an APCO student course in-house, allowing for significant reduction in your in-service training. During the course the student will create and conduct a 20 minute presentation. You may select the discipline which you chose to instruct.
Pre-requisite: Successful completion of the current version of the course you choose to instruct.

Communications Training Officer (CTO) 5th Edition – $261

The Communications Training Officer (CTO) 5th Edition focuses on the development and maintenance of an agency’s one-on-one training program and provides the training necessary to foster levels of consistency for CTOs as they provide on-the-job training to new hires.

APCO Institute Agency Instructor Workshop

APCO Institute is hosting the first annual Agency Instructor Workshop. The workshop will provide some key "survival" skills you need as an APCO Agency Instructor. Receive specific feedback from the APCO Institute Staff and your peers and leave with your own forms and feedback sheets, and suggestions for improvement. This workshop is geared toward new and veteran Agency Instructors. We will put some focus on facilitation skills (as opposed to presentation skills). Learn what master trainers do to create a positive climate for learning, lead groups, motivate learners, deal with difficult participants, and much more. This workshop will give you countless new ideas and sources of inspiration to enhance your instructional style and techniques. This course is expected to be the most highly participative and interactive course ever offered to our Agency Instructors.
